Wanda McGowan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wanda McGowan, 67 of Rossville, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was a member of Richard Harkins Ministries Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Wanda was an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending her day cooking, cleaning and caring for those she loved. She started every day with prayer and reading no less than ten chapters in her Bible. She is preceded in death by her father, James Lunsford; mother and step father, Norma Jean and Howard Wilson; baby sister, Carolyn Mae Lunsford. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Billy McGowan; son, Tim (Candye) Lunsford; daughter, Tammy (James) Sherrill; brother, David Wilson; sister; Karen (Carl) Hutcheson; grandchildren; Nathan Sherrill, Emily Phillips, Timothy A. Lunsford and Savanna Sherrill; great-grandchildren, Elijah Phillips and Kayden Lunsford; bonus grandchildren, Arron, Allen and Devin Gribble; seven bonus great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and fur babies. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 in the chapel of the Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Burnette and Bro. Rick Crisp officiating. Itermant will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the funeral home.
