Ulys C Sparks Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ulys C. Sparks, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at his residence. A native of Guntersville, AL. he has lived in the Catoosa County area for the past 51 years and was formerly of East Ridge, Tennessee. He was a retired employee of Wheland Foundry where he worked for 32 years and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Sue Sparks; parents, Clyde and Althia Bell Caldwell Sparks; three sisters, Lorene Norton, Traceda Honea and Helen Sparks; and two brothers, Howard Sparks and Alvin Sparks. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Melba Jean Payne Sparks of Ringgold, GA.; two children, David Wayne (Renae) Sparks of Ringgold, GA., and Ulys “Jimmy” (Christy) Sparks of Ringgold, GA.; three sisters, Pat Johnson of Prattville, AL., and Bonny Medley of Anniston, AL.; four brothers, Rymon Neal Sparks of Grove Oak, AL., Biff Alton Sparks of Cedar Bluff, AL., Phil Sparks of Grove Oak, AL., and Barry Sparks of Grove Oak, AL.; five grandchildren, Reanna (Joshua) Lucas, Riley (Katherine) Sparks, Tyler (Keren) Sparks, Seth (Lauren) Sparks and Caitlin (Logan) Cook; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Monday and 9 A.M. until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
