Thurman Mackie Silver "Mack", 69, of Ft Oglethorpe, GA, passed away on February 10, 2021. Mack was a good hearted man who was a member of the Pentecostals of Spartanburg Church in Spartanburg, SC. He graduated from Sale Creek High School where he excelled in Basketball, served in the US Army and was a hard working man who retired as a Supervisor from Spartanburg Steel. He was an avid Tennessee Vols and Dallas Cowboy fan. Mack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, nephew and friend that will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Lunsford, father, Lewis Silver, sister, Sheila Vecere and brother-in-law Frank Johns. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Patsy Silver, children: Courtney Lapp (Ben), Karen McCracken, Michelle Jacobson (Tim), Jerry McCracken (Lorea), sisters: Brenda Johns and Connie Silver, brothers Butch Silver (Kathy) and Edward Silver (Melissa), several grandchildren, great grandchildren and very special Uncle Alvin Mackie (Reba). The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe, GA. A 1:30 pm graveside funeral service will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to W. L.
