Rev. Morgan Herbert Bateman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rev. Morgan H. Bateman, age 93 of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was born in Nantahala, N.C., to the late Theodore and Edna Bateman. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from McKee Bakery where he was a line machine mechanic. He was a member of Moriah Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Cecil Bateman, Phyllis Mintz, Patsy Whitaker and Sandra Kuhn. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years: Lucille Neal Bateman of Nantahala, N.C.; their children: Gary (Debbie) Bateman, Tony (Beth) Bateman, Chuck (Terri) Bateman, Lanette (Rick) Hamill, siblings: Mildred Bates, Ted Bateman, eight grandchildren- Tara (Aaron), Mandi, Heather (Brent), Megan (Bruce), Josiah (Karly), Abbie, Jared and Morgan (Nick); eight great grandchildren - Makenna, Lena, Josie, Emma, Franklin, Kaden, Donovan and Sadie; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Monday after 10:00 am prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm – Monday – March 28, 2022 with Rev. Chuck Patrick and Rev. Dennis McNulty. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Veterans National Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes – Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold, Georgia.
