King Mark Hoppel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

King Mark Hoppel, 68, of Rock Spring, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022. A native of Norwalk, Connecticut, he lived in the Rock Spring area for the past 18 months. He was formerly of Tigard, Oregon and Houston, Texas, the latter of which will forever be his adoptive home town. He was owner/operator of Carnival Glass King, and was of the Methodist faith. King was a member of Pacific Northwest Carnival Glass Club and Administrator of the Carnival Glass King Facebook Group. He enjoyed traveling and antiquing with his wife and spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors, and could fix anything. He started every day with a crossword puzzle and was a lifelong entrepreneur. Although no words can encapsulate a man's life, he will be sorely missed by those who love him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Frank” Mark Hoppel and Alice Marguerite Guerin Hoppel; and sister, Lynn Hoppel. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Oberg Hansen of Rock Spring, GA.; three children, Courtney (Matt) Bowers of Ringgold, GA., Christina (Bryson) McGinnis of Huntsville, AL., and Jessica Kling of Delmar, Maryland; step-daughter, Amy Rae (Adam) Berger of Portland, OR.; brother, Bruce (Erin) Hoppel of Norwalk, CT.; seven grandchildren, Lilly, Sam, Sarah, Evie, Ellie, Addison and Riley; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Folds of Honor, an organization that provides scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service members. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 27, 2022 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends 3-5 P.M. Saturday and 12-2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
