Jane Williams Gilreath Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jane Williams Gilreath, 89, of LaFayette, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born in LaFayette, Georgia on December 31, 1932 to the late, Oscar and Foye Hall Williams and was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in LaFayette and loved Southern Gospel Music and singing with her husband in church. She served as a Teacher in Walker County School System for more than 27 years, having taught at LaFayette High School, Naomi Elementary, North LaFayette Elementary and then retired from LaFayette Middle School in 1993. She taught Bible in the Schools for many years and stayed in touch with many of her former students throughout the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be truly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of more than 49 years, Billy Gilreath; daughters, Leeann & Carroll Roberts of LaFayette, GA and Karen & Phillip Garrett of Senoia, GA; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Hunter Burnette, Taylor Burnette, Bethany & Eric Maguire, Jordan & Chase DeSantis and Jake-Aaron Roberts; great granddaughter, Ruca DeSantis and numerous extended family & friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in the LaFayette Chapel with Pastor Mike Peterson and Pastor Ricky Studdard officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
