Garry Dean Powers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Garry Dean Powers, age 80 of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2022. He was born to the late Henry Lawrence Powers and Margret Kelsey Powers in Paint Rock, TN, moved to the Chickamauga area in 1977 and was a member of Covenant Life Worship Center. Garry served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1966 and retired from Crystal Springs after more than 24 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed. Garry is survived by his loving wife, of 48 years, Barbara Powers, daughter, Dawnia Kaye (Matt Pfeiffer) Powers, siblings, Sandra Ballew and Michael Pete Powers, granddaughter, Rowan Gray Powers and several nieces and nephews. Garry loved Tennessee football, flea markets and spending time with his church family. Garry and the family have requested to not receive flowers. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022 in Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South, with Pastor Kris Taivalkoski officiating.
