Florence Cleon Chapman Hester Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Florence Cleon Chapman Hester, age 85 of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was born to the late Odis and Elinor Parson Chapman, in Dekalb Co., AL, lived most of her life in the North Georgia area and was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, of 61 years, Hugh Brice Hester, son, Billy Wayne Gore, grandson, Travis Brice Gore, son-in-law, Rick Shrader, siblings, W.S. Chapman, Frank (Mary Ellen) Chapman, Agnes (Shelly) Shavers, Cleo Baty and Faye (Oran) Weldon. Florence is survived by her loving children, Beverly West, Donna (David) Britton and Robin Shrader, grandchildren, Chris Gore, Kelly Adams, W.B. Durpree, Brenna Defoor, Ricky Shrader, Tiffany Grover and Kayla Gorsuch, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law, Larry (Ann) Hester, lifelong friends, Larry and Margarett Richards and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in the funeral home chapel, with Min. Gregory Collins officaing. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday.
