Mrs. Flora Wilson Scott Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Flora Wilson Scott, 90, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She was born on September 8, 1931 in Wilson County, Tennessee to the late Freeman & Elsie Durham Barrett and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life. She was a member of Cloud Springs Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe and loved spending time with her Golden Agers Group and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. She was an excellent cook and took pride in preparing meals for her family & friends. She enjoyed reading, especially her daily quiet times with God while reading her Bible. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to so many and will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Scott. Flora is survived by six children; Sammie & Margie Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Larry & Rosalyn Scott of Crawfordville, FL, Sue Pope of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Terry Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Debbie Roy of Dalton, GA and Jan Allen of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild and numerous extended family & friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
