Etta Carlisle Burris "Bobbie" Gilstrap Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Etta Carlisle Burris “Bobbie” Gilstrap, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 13, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 25, 1924 to the late, Paul A. Burris & Etta Carlisle Burris Barnes and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas. She graduated from Central High School in 1942 and was of the Baptist faith. She was previously employed with T.V.A. for more than 20 years and then retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee in 1986 after more than 10 years of service. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David T. Gilstrap; sons, James Keith Gilstrap, John David Gilstrap and Douglas Frank Gilstrap. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Gregory Keith & Carolyn Y. Gilstrap; 5 grandchildren, Tim Gilstrap, Laura Beth Mason, Davy Gilstrap, Robert Gilstrap and Tanya Prater; 7 great-grandchildren, Damion, Treasure, Atum, Drake, Matthew, McKenna and Hannah; 4 bonus great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Dakota, Andrew Prater and Sean Prater; 4 bonus great-great grandchildren, Madelyn, Nolan, Jax Sherlin and Bankston Jesse Prater and numerous extended family & friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Neal Brown officiating.
