Charles Berry Young Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Berry Young, age 82 of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 22, 2021. He was born to the late Robert H. Young Sr. and Lila Mae Cochran Young in Sandersville, GA, lived most of his life in the Atlanta area before moving to Chickamauga area after he retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and Moreland Altobelli in 2001, after more than 40 yrs. in the transportation industry. Charles also served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of North East Baptist Church in Atlanta before becoming a member of First Baptist Church of Chickamauga in 2001, where he was a member of the choir. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William H. Young, Earl Stephen Young and Robert H. Young Jr. Charles is survived by his loving wife, of 57 yrs. Donna Hendrix Young, children, Berrylynne Young Skinner and Rob Young, grandchildren, Andy Skinner, Jessica Skinner, C.J. Young and Miles Young, great grandchild, Emma and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Chris Morgan and Pastor Michael Savadge officiating. Interment will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday.
