Randall Steele

William “Randall” Steele age 75, of Chickamauga, Georgia went to be with the Lord Friday, December 22nd at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Chattanooga, TN., Son to the late Robert (Bob) & Dot Lanier Steele Wilson. He graduated from Rossville High School – Class of 1967. He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company before going into a business partnership as American Building Services - which later transitioned into Swan, ISS and Southern Management – where he retired as President. He was a member of Peavine Baptist Church. His favorite past times with his sweetie, Marlene, were being Mamps & Papps, watching their grandkids ball games and matches, camping and traveling to the condo with the family. His work family, Bible Study and “The Liar’s Club” at Greg’s restaurant were very special to him. Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 51 years: Marlene Culver Steele, brother: Gary Steele and brother-in-law: Dwight Sparks. He is survived by his children: Lance (Mandy) Steele of Ringgold, GA, Shanna (Shawn) Rogers, and Lacey (Jeff) Goodson all of Chickamauga, GA, sister: Teresa (Dale) Hughey of Ringgold, GA, and step-father: Don Wilson of Ringgold, GA, sister-in-law: Billie Sparks of Chickamauga, GA, and to those that called him Papps his grandchildren: Denver & Emoree Rogers, Steele & Hampton Goodson, Layne & Ruby Steele, several nieces & nephews. After retirement Randall enjoyed spending time on the family farm, working cows, taking the grand kids for rides, looking at wildlife. Also, he loved the joy and memories of countless parties, family get togethers, traditions and time spent in his family home. This home will be a place of continued celebrations and warmth for years to come for the children, grandchildren and friends. Randall was a devout Christian man very active in supporting numerous organizations such as Lookout Mountain FCA, in which he served on the board of directors for a time, his local churches throughout North Georgia, and he was very supportive of the Chris McDaniel Ministries and its many missions, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Billy Graham Ministries just to name a few. He talked a great deal about his Rossville High School football team and how many close friends he had there. He cherished his travels and fun times with his close friends on their Florida trips and outings throughout the years. The family wants to give a special thank you to the efforts by all that comforted Randall and especially Kelly Dunn Strickland, Terri Stoker and Megan Chandler (Hearth Hospice). These 3 ladies went above and beyond helping Randall and family. Randall touched many lives humbly with his actions, way of living, and business advice and counsel, which influenced countless individuals throughout the area. He was truly a remarkable husband, father and grandfather who loved his family and was a selfless legendary figure. The family will receive friends Friday – December 29, 2023 from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm at Peavine Baptist Church located at 1089 Peavine Road – Rock Spring, Georgia 30739 with the celebration of Randall’s life at 1:30 pm. Entombment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park – Rossville, Georgia. Flowers will be accepted and may be sent to the funeral home or Peavine Baptist Church.
