I grew up in a very difficult family atmosphere and culture. I was born with a genetic disease that made my life extremely harsh and unforgiving (and physically painful) in both family and school. I would simply have not survived to adulthood if it were not for a particular wonderful friend in our public school who never looked down on me or even once rejected me when he very well could have. He didn’t have to be my friend, but he chose to because of his near perfect heart that he displayed to everyone around him. I’ve had many friends since the days of my youth but none of them were true. Carl always was. He will be missed terribly from this day forth and I will think of him every day until my own last day. Then I am sure I will see him again. Love you, Carl……
