Mildred “Mickey” Jeraldine Schmitt Stephens Chattin

June 25, 1934 – October 10, 2021

Mildred “Mickey” Jeraldine Schmitt Stephens Chattin, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mickey lived in Deland, Florida for a short time and moved back to Chattanooga 30 years ago. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and retired from Walker County School System after which time she worked a short time at CHI Memorial. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Clarence Stephens Jr.; second husband, James “Jim” Chattin; parents, Grady Monroe and Hazel Irene Schmitt Blackwell; two sons, Leonard Michael Stephens and Anthony “Tony” Stephens; step-son, James Michael Chattin; step-daughter, Kay Thomas and brothers, Calvin Blackwell, J.C. Blackwell and Marlon Blackwell. She is survived by daughter, Crystal (Phil) Blanton of Rome, GA., and Robin (Ruth) Stephens of Chattanooga, TN.; two step-children, Kathy Chattin of Chattanooga, TN., and Stephannie Chattin of Knoxville, TN.; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro Bill Broom and Bro. Tommy Broom officiating. Interment will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
