Judith Grace “Judy” Stitz

October 16, 1939 ~ October 2, 2021

Judith Grace “Judy” Stitz, aka “Grammy”, 81, of Fort Oglethorpe, stepped into eternity sleeping peacefully in her home early Saturday morning, October 2, 2021.  She was born in Oswego, New York to the late Theodore & Virginia Ranous aka “Dunk” & “Ginny” and lived most of her life in the Clewiston, Florida area.  She retired from the Hospitality industry having worked at Clewiston Country Club for more than 25 years and was of the Christian faith.  She was well known for her gifts of service and entertaining, baking cakes and cookies were just some of her specialties.  In general, celebrating life with parties, luncheons, and food was what she loved to do for her family & friends.  She was a beautiful force of life and took great joy in the simple pleasures, spending time with family & friends and bringing sunshine into the lives of everyone she met.  It has been said, “Grammy” could make even a funeral fun!  She was a loving and devoted, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be truly missed by all who knew her.    She was preceded in death by her  2 brothers-in-law, John Sincavage and Ray Hanley;  2 angel babies, “L.J.” and Baby Stevens who we know are now playing creepy mousey and pink bug in her lap!

She leaves behind: her 2 sisters Kathy and Amy, sons & daughter, Michael, Mark, Maureen, and Matthew.  13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Tea Cottage, 2233 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN.  A Celebration of Life service will also take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Macklin Baptist Church, 16846 AL-71, Pisgah, AL.  Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
