Walter “Walt” Lee Brandon age 78, of Menlo, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday – September 20, 2021. Walt was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Samuel Heman and Emma Lee Wilson Brandon. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud veteran. Walt was a member of UA Local 43 Plumbers and Steamfitters and had worked at Velsicol Chemical and Tennessee Valley Authority as a Steam fitter and planner for thirty years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia where he served as Sunday School teacher and Church Administrator. Walt was a faithful member who served when and wherever he could for The Lord. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed the community and life on Lookout Mountain. Walt’s most cherished time was spent with his family. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Imogene Massengale. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Mrs. Sylvia Everette Brandon of Menlo, GA, their children: Shane Brandon of Flintstone, GA, Kelli Brandon McDonald of Chickamauga, GA, grandchildren: Chandler, Emma Lee, Marshall and Braxton McDonald, Lincoln Brandon, siblings; Sarah Pankey, James Brandon, Jody Hirst, Debbie Clark; first cousins, Butch and Margeeta Dodd, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Derrell O’Neal officiating.
