James Edward “Jimmy” Allmond, Jr., 61, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was born in San Diego, California to the late, James & Patricia Martin Allmond, Sr. and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, cooking, grilling out, watching TV and spending time with his family & friends. He was a former EMT, a Volunteer Firefighter for Rossville Fire Department as well as the Hwy. 58 Fire Department. He was a scorekeeper at many of his children’s ballgames, loved working puzzles, crosswords, Christmas, but most of all he loved to argue and of course he was always right no matter what. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Coleman Chandler; grandparents, Eula & Thurman Martin; great grandmother, Lucy Samples; aunt, Mary Sharp and step-brother and wife, Jim & Connie Chandler.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 39 years, Valerie Norman Allmond; daughters, Shannon (Donnie) Cureton, Sarah (Blake) Simpson and Diana Allmond (Sam & Adam Wilson); sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen & Mark Williams and Jennifer & Clyde Howell; sisters-in-law, Wanda Moses, Glenda & Wayne Gentry and Mary Breedlove; 4 grandchildren, Alex, D.J., Tyler and Savannah; 3 great grandchildren, Jasper, Jayden and Jocelynn; niece, Sheena Hamill; nephews, William Moses, Christopher Teeters, Joshua Teeters, Jeremy Teeters and Matthew Teeters; and numerous extended family & friends.
