Wanda “Darlene” Carver

April 19, 1953 – July 29, 2021

Wanda “Darlene” Carver 68, of Ringgold went to be with The Lord on July 29, 2021 at a  local hospital. After nearly two decades of defeating cancer, she ultimately succumbed to complications with medication. She has been living in the Ringgold area for the past 28 years, with her husband Bill Carver. They are members at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Boynton where she could always be found planning events such as Vacation Bible School, Christmas and Easter Programs, or singing in the choir.  She loved working with kids; and she found a way to do that her whole life, working with the Bethel Bible Village, Head Start Pre-K program; and later a Bus Monitor for Catoosa County School Systems.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents Fred & JoAnn Shortridge.

 

Darlene is survived by her loving husband Bill “Bubba” Carver; children Jason (Jennifer) Hobbs, Sheena Hobbs; step children Michele (Bruce) Morris, Chad (Jennifer) Carver; one sister Shirley Stewart (Gary Goocey); step brother Brian (Carrie) Shortridge; grandchildren Noah Hobbs, Sarah Hobbs, Sumner Moulton, Sawyer Moulton; her beloved Aunt June & Uncle Bill Bridges and several step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be held Monday August 2, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Simpson McBrien Cemetery in Chattanooga.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Bethlehem Center in Chattanooga @ Donate — The Bethlehem Center

    I love you Darlene! I know you are in a much better place resting in the arms of Jesus. I will miss you but look forward to the day we meet again!

    So sorry to hear of Darlene’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of her at Frawley Baptist Church. She was an extraordinary Sunday School teacher and I learned so much from her. Darlene was a special person. Prayers for Bill and her family.
