William D. Wood, age 94 of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 9, 2021.  He was born to the late William James and Minnie Myrtle Enders Wood in Indiana, has lived in the North Georgia area since 1999 and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.  William served his country in the U.S. Army, before retiring from Southern Bell/AT&T after more than 35 years.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be greatly missed.  William was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma Catherine Wood and sister, Lorene Holderman.  He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Wood, children; Paula (Robert) Gambling, Donna (Randy) Rehrer, Bobbye (Craig) Colvalt, step-sons, Alan (Sara) Woodward and Steve (Cindy) Woodward, 9 grandchidlren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July13, 2021 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Brian Carroll and Pastor Carl Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.  Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements by W.L.
