John Wayne Peardon, 74, of Ringgold, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 30, 1947 to the late, John & Betty Isbill Peardon and had lived in the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas for most of his life. He was of the Pentecostal faith and retired from Wally’s Restaurant in 2018 after more than 30 years of service. John was a good-hearted man, who was always putting others needs before his own and he was loved by everyone he met. He enjoyed old gospel music and spending time with his family & friends. He was a loving and devoted brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Pugh and Vickie Peterson.
Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Talina & (Wayne) Broughman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce & (Curtis) Williams, Ada & (Tommy) Dean, Pamela & (Henry) Ellison, Brenda Gibson, Kay Slocum and Tammy Nelson; 8 grandchildren, Chelsie, Tony, Emma, Tristen, Levy, Kelten, Malyssa and Melanie; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companions “his babies”, Precious, Sonny and Cher.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
