Charles “Charlie” Edward Helton

Charles “Charlie” Edward Helton, age 84 of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2021 surrounded by his family.  He was born to the late James and Florence Hight Helton in Ringgold, was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and was of the Baptist Faith.  Charlie served his country in the U.S. Army and was the owner/operator of Helton Maintenance Service for more than 30 yrs.  He was a master woodturner and was a member of Dalton Area Woodturners and Tristate Woodturners.  Charlie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.  He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Helton and brother, Tommy Helton.  Charles is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Brenda Helton, children: Chris Helton, Chelley Helton (Robert) Swinney and Chad Helton, siblings:  Richard (Georgeann) Helton, Laura (Tommy) Garland and Danny Helton, grandchildren:  Matthew Helton, Daniel Swinney and Christen Helton, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The family will schedule a Celebration of Life for Charlie at a later date.  The family would like to thank Dr. Alison Bailey and NP Mallory Eaves for the care and support they have shown for Charlie over the years.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association at in Charlie’s name.  Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
