Robert Lee Regal

January 29, 1930 – May 21, 2021


Robert Lee Regal, age 91 of Chattanooga, went to be with his Lord on Friday May 21, 2021. He most recently retired as Teacher of Voice from McCallie School, was Artist in Residence at Tennessee Temple University, and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Isabel Regal; sisters, Jennie Ann Cooper, Donna Jean Downy; and daughter ’n law, Sandra Mayer Regal.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 69 years, Barbara Jean Regal; children, Tim Regal (Connie) of Chattanooga, TN, Cindy Sherrill (Gene) of Indianapolis, IN, Debbie Johnson (Chris) of Charlotte, NC and Dan Regal (Tammy) of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Walter “Dean” Regal of Dallas, TX; sisters, Ruth Cording and Lillian Valdez of Tucson, AZ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends 11am until 1pm Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 1pm in the Chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Piqua, OH.

    Condolences to Mrs. Regal and family. Very saddened to hear of your loss. Mr. Regal was an inspiration to all who were lucky enough to know him and he will be greatly missed.

    I was sorry to read about your loss. Mr. Regal was an exceptionally talented gentleman and a nice person, too. Even in these days when we can listen to songs digitally, I still have my old LPs with his songs. My prayers will be with the family in the coming days and months.
