Barbara Ann Williams Hackett 81, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021. She was a member of Ringgold United Methodist Church, and for many years, was active in FOB Sunday School Class. In her lifetime Barbara’s work included an Aide in the Ringgold School System and a florist (first for others then in her own shop) but abandoned these activities early to become a full-time grandmother. She had nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; most of them lived on the farm, within walking distance of her kitchen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Holbert and Lucile Cook Williams; son, Joe Hackett; brothers, E.L. “Jake” Williams and T.D. “Cooney” Williams.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, C.D. “Pete” Hackett; sons, Chuck (Evonne) Hackett, Roger (Jill) Hackett; daughter, Luann (Jesse) Hackett Cross; sister, Loretta (C.W. “Bill”) Williams Stanley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ringgold United Methodist Church with Dr. Lamar Brown and Rev. Bobby Fleck officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. on Monday at Wilson Funeral Home, Ringgold and 12-2 P.M. on Tuesday, prior to the service, at the Ringgold United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Ringgold United Methodist Church or the donor’s favorite charity.
