Betty Jo Crowder Lacy, 91 of Ft. Oglethorpe went to be with The Lord on April 22, 2021. She has lived most of her life in the North Georgia area, and is a member at Community Baptist Church in Rock Spring, Ga. She retired from Markman’s Diamonds after 20 years of service; and Betty loved to shop, visit yard sales, read books, watch her bird feeder, and spend time with family.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Farrell Lacy; parents Howard & Cordie Crowder; sisters Mamie Newton, and Minnie Wilson; son in-law Denny Taylor; and nephew Milton Newton Jr.
Betty is survived by her children Gloria Leamon, Roger (Donnice) Goins, Terry (Crystal) Goins, Kim (Pat) Mcdougale; grandchildren Eddy Leamon, Sandy (Shaun) Coker, Kelly Mayhew, and Brad (Chastity) Scoggins. Also surviving are her beloved great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 25, 2021 in the parlor of the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Angel, and Pastor Michael Dunwoody officiating. Entombment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville.
