David Boynton, age 80 of Flintstone, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021. He was born to the late Richard and Lillian Yount Boynton in Philidelphia, PA, lived most of his life in Macon, GA and the last 13 yrs. in the North Georgia area. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Rossville, retired from the City of Macon after more than 35 yrs. in 2003, and served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Boynton II, grandson, Austin Cole Holloway and siblings, George Boynton and Ruth Fields. David is survived by his loving wife, 55 yrs., Cathryn DeFore Boynton, children, Olette (Joe) Busbee, Amy (John) Wrzesinski and Richard Boynton, grandchildren, Allison Overturf, Aaron Overturf, Savannah Hunnicutt, Brody Boynton, Taylor Boynton, Jordan Boynton, Reagan Boynton and Sydney Boynton, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church, with Pastors Ronnie Brown and Chris O’Neal officiating. Interment will be at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the church.
