Wilma Sue Teems Leigh, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away February 15, 2021 at home with her niece’s family, Brooke and Daniel Henson and their children, Cadence and Eden, where she resided for the last nine years. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, through the years, she was a member of multiple churches where she shared her great talent, playing the piano. She grew up playing at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, and later Boynton Baptist, Parker’s Gap Baptist, and then Salem Baptist Church, from which she retired. A former employee of Catoosa County Schools, she proudly served as library paraprofessional at Ringgold Junior High and later the Middle School. After her retirement, she greatly enjoyed participating in the Catoosa Retired Educators Association. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 40 in Ringgold. She was a faithful attender of the Ringgold Senior Nutrition Center, and enjoyed her time there. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jack D Leigh; parents, Leonard and Cloriece Patty Teems; sisters, Joan Teems and Loma Cloriece Teems Hullender; and brother Vernon Teems, all of Ringgold. She is survived by her brother Walen Teems (Glenda), of Athens, Tenn. and sister, Brenda T. (Tommy) Robertson, of Ringgold; as well as several nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as “Meme”. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 with Rev. Danny Henson officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 12-2 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ringgold Senior Nutrition Center P.O. Box 2087 Ft. Oglethorpe. Georgia 30742.
