Johnny E. Maxwell, 80, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020. A lifelong resident of the Rossville, Ringgold area, he was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, the Catoosa County Historical Society and a former member of the Tennessee Mountain Marauders. Johnny loved woodworking, spending time outdoors, socializing and spending time with friends. Johnny and his wife Maxie also won the Waffle House #1 fans in the nation. After High School, he went to work for Tennessee Stove. After a few years, he started working for Koehring Southern where he was a welder for 20 years. He then began his own business, Maxwell Fire Protection that he owned for 15 years after which he worked for Curbs Plus for 8 years where he worked in Maintenance. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine ”Maxie” Caldwell Maxwell; parents, O.B. and Wilma J. Linthicum Maxwell; sisters, Ann Rawlston, Juanita Roberson and Madeline Whitten; and brother, Ed Wilson. He is survived by son, Johnny Darrell (Gaye) Maxwell of Ringgold, GA.; daughter, Tina (David) Murell of Moreland, GA.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Taylor, Ben (Jess) Dodd; additional grandchildren Johnny Schoenfeld, Tim Schoenfeld and Amber Sturdivan; three great grandchildren, Rymi Dodd, Kimber Dodd and Marshall Dodd; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday October 24, 2020 at Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Eric Greeson officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
