Nellie May Bradford Nelson age 82, of Flintstone, Georgia passed away peacefully Friday – July 10, 2020. She was born in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Anthony “Yank” and Mamie Caldwell Bradford. She has resided in the Chattanooga Valley area for the past fifty-five years. She was a former cashier at C.D. Genters Store in Chattanooga, TN. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters and her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them all to the circus every year and being at every sports event for them that she was able to. She was a very giving person, selfless and faithful to The Lord and her family. She was also an avid photographer for the family events. She was of the Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Frank Parker Nelson, Jr., sister: Margaret Cantrell and brothers: John and Charles Bradford. She is survived by her husband: Frank Parker Nelson, Sr., son: Gary “Bub” (Carol) Nelson all of Flintstone, GA, granddaughters: Summer (Jeremy) Stephens of Chickamauga, GA, Tiffany (Chris) Dowden of Ringgold, GA, great-grandchildren: Lauren, Presley and Jackson Dowden of Ringgold, GA, Hunter, Easton and baby girl Stephens of Chickamauga, GA, special friends and caregivers: Robert (Wanda) Griffitts, Sr., and Sheila Cagle all of Flintstone, GA, sisters: Martha (Russell) Wilkerson of Fackler, AL, Mary Thomas of Stevenson, AL, brother: Mike (Beverly) Bradford of South Pittsburgh, TN, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am – Tuesday – July 14, 2020 in the chapel with Brother Walter Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Gilliam Cemetery – South Pittsburgh, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Stocking Full of Love at 105 South Duke Street – LaFayette, Georgia 30728. Arrangements by W.L.
