George A. Templeton age 70, of Chickamauga Georgia slipped away this earthly vail Saturday – May 16th, 2020 after fighting courageously health issues for many years. He passed quietly in his sleep as wife Sandra lovingly cared for him. He was born in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Robert and Bessie Johnson Templeton. George served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Wheland Foundry as an Electronic Technician after 30 plus years. He was a former teacher at Walker Technical College in Rock Spring, GA. He spent his retirement helping with family businesses and in constant service of any family or friend in need of assistance. More he was a devout man of God and a member of New Haven Baptist Church in East Brainerd. He was a former Deacon of Liberty Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA. Always a teacher, mentor, trusted advisor, steadfast friend and loving family man. His family was always foremost in every action he took. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, bush-hogging, working on his backhoe and being outdoors. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Roberta Babb, brothers: Robert, Marvin and David Templeton. George is survived by his loving wife of 48 years: Sandra I. Templeton, their children: Gregory, Garrin (Mary) Templeton, daughter: Greta (John) Bradley, as well as adopted son: Mark Hale, brothers: Larry and Gerald Templeton. He is also survived by the prides of his life, grandchildren: Haden and Trevor Templeton and Ty, Cainan and Reece Bradley. Loved and respected by all fortunate to cross his path, he will forever be missed by family and friends. He is a man who positively impacted many people’s lives directly and indirectly. We will miss everyday hearing your greeting " I'm fine for an old man". Til we meet you again our loving husband, beloved dad and doting Pap-paw. We Love You. The family would like to thank Dr. Jack McCallie and Hearth Hospice for their care. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Wednesday after 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm – Wednesday – May 20, 2020 in the chapel with Pastor Larry Underwood. Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery.
