William Dexter Parker

William “Dexter” Parker, age 63 of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Hoyt and Betty McWhorter Parker in LaFayette, was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of Community Baptist Church, Rock Spring. Dexter served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, of 30 yrs., Judy Dyer Parker; daughters, Jennifer (Dereck) Sears and Robin Swaggerty; sister, Freda Cooper; grandchildren, D.J. Lovett, Daniel Swaggerty, Kevin Swaggerty, Gage Sears, Austin Sears and Tyler Swaggerty; nieces Christy Dyer, Sarah Cooper and Savannah Cooper; nephew, Adam Dyer; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Angel officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home-J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga.
