James “Jim” Leroy Black, 68, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and was a route owner with Flowers Bakery for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Ringgold and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Marie Dean Black. He is survived by daughter, Melanie (Michael) Ahlschwede; son, Sgt. Benjamin R. (Emily) Black U.S.M.C.; sister, Nancy Gardner; two granddaughters; two nieces; three great nieces, and two great nephews. Memorial services will be held 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Chattanooga National cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
