Frances Browning Thomas, 83, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Sunday October 25, 2015. Born July 4th, 1932, she was the wife of the late R. Harold Thomas of Ringgold, Georgia. She was a native of Dekalb County, Mississippi and has lived in the Ringgold area for the past 16 years. She was a member of the Ringgold First Baptist Church, a volunteer for Hutcheson and Christ Chapel. She taught Sunday School, VBS and served her Savior faithfully through the years. She is preceded in death by her son, Bruce Thomas; parents, John Henry and Frances Hobdy Browning, and two brothers, Charles and Gerald Browning. She is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Cindy Thomas, Oxford, AL., Clara and Scott Lindsey, Franklin, TN., Edd and Linda Thomas, Ringgold, GA., Amy and Greg Jackson, Ringgold, GA,. daughter-in-law, Becky Sharpton Thomas of Ooltewah, TN. She was "Grandma" to 14 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren, making each one believe they were special and her favorite. She also wanted to be known as the "Reading Grandma". She loved to read to each one and to have them read to her. She is survived by two sisters, Billy Ruth Peace of Midway, GA., and Marguerite Weatherly of St. Augustine, FL., several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Anderson Memorial Gardens with her son John Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-9 P.M. and Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ Chapel Share and Care Mission in Ringgold, Georgia. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Georgia.
